YourBibleTracker collects minimal personal information to provide you with the best experience:
- Username: Your chosen display name within the app (stored locally and in iCloud if sync is enabled)
- Reading Progress: Chapters you've read and marked in your Bible reading trackers
- Memorization Data: Bible verses and prayers you've added to memorize
- Settings & Preferences: Your theme choices, color scheme, reminder settings, notification preferences, and Bible type selection (Protestant or Catholic)
- Streak Data: Your daily usage streak information for motivational purposes
1.2 Automatically Collected Information
YourBibleTracker does NOT automatically collect:
- Device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV)
- Analytics or usage data
- Location data
- Contact information from your device
- Photos or media from your device
We do not use any third-party analytics or tracking services. Your privacy is complete.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information collected solely to:
- Provide and maintain the YourBibleTracker app functionality
- Sync your data across your personal devices via Apple iCloud (if enabled by you)
- Send you local notifications and reminders (only if you enable them in Settings)
- Remember your preferences, settings, and reading progress
- Track your daily usage streak for motivation
- Improve the app based on your feature requests (submitted voluntarily)
We do NOT use your information for:
- Advertising or marketing
- Selling or renting to third parties
- Profiling or behavioral analysis
- Any purpose other than providing the app's core functionality
3. Data Storage and Security
3.1 Where Your Data is Stored
Your data is stored in two secure locations:
- Locally on Your Device: All data is stored locally using Apple's secure UserDefaults and local storage frameworks for offline access
- Apple iCloud (Optional): When you enable iCloud sync, your data is stored in your private iCloud account, encrypted and managed by Apple
Important: We do not have access to your iCloud data. It is stored in your personal iCloud account and encrypted by Apple according to their security standards.
3.2 Security Measures
We implement industry-standard security measures:
- All data is stored securely using Apple's native security frameworks
- iCloud data is encrypted both in transit and at rest by Apple
- We never transmit your personal data to external servers (except iCloud, which you control)
- No third-party services have access to your personal information
- Local notifications are processed entirely on your device
4. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services
We never sell, rent, trade, or share your personal data with third parties for their marketing or commercial purposes.
4.1 Third-Party Services We Use
- Apple iCloud: Used for optional data syncing across your devices. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. You control whether to enable this.
- Bible API: We use a third-party API to retrieve Bible text. These requests are anonymous and contain no personal information about you.
4.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
5. Analytics and Tracking
YourBibleTracker does NOT use:
- Third-party analytics services (Google Analytics, Firebase, etc.)
- Advertising networks or trackers
- Cookies or web beacons
- Cross-app tracking
- Device fingerprinting
We do not track your reading habits, behavior, or app usage. Your privacy is absolute.
6. Children's Privacy
YourBibleTracker is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages, including children. We are committed to protecting children's privacy:
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13
- We do not require account creation or personal details
- All data is stored locally on the device or in the family's iCloud account
- We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)

7. Your Privacy Rights
You have complete control over your data:
- Access Your Data: All your data is visible and accessible within the app at all times

- Delete Your Data: Use the "Reset All Progress" option in Settings to permanently delete all local data from your device
- Control iCloud Sync: You can enable or disable iCloud syncing at any time in your device's Settings app
- Manage iCloud Data: Your iCloud data can be managed through your Apple account settings
- Opt-out of Notifications: Disable reminders and notifications in the app's Settings or your device Settings
8. Data Retention
- Local Data: Stored on your device until you delete the app or use "Reset All Progress"
- iCloud Data: Retained in your iCloud account according to your iCloud storage settings and Apple's policies
- Deletion: When you delete YourBibleTracker from your device, all local data is permanently removed. iCloud data can be deleted through your iCloud settings
9. International Data Transfers
YourBibleTracker does not transfer your personal data internationally. All data is stored locally on your device or in your iCloud account, which is managed by Apple according to their data residency policies.
10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:
- Right to know what personal information is collected
- Right to delete personal information
- Right to opt-out of sale of personal information (we do not sell your data)
